It's Time to Test Your Water!

Apr 17, 2024

FREE Water Testing at Nauman*

Our FREE Water Tests* check for pH, hardness and iron.

What should my tap water pH be?

Your tap water's pH should fall somewhere between 6.5 and 8.5. If water is too acidic (low pH) or alkaline (high pH), it can damage pipes and appliances and is not considered safe to drink.

What is water hardness?

Water hardness is the amount of dissolved calcium and magnesium in the water. Soft water is low in minerals, while hard water has a high mineral content.

Effects of hard water include:

  • Scale buildup inside water pipes
  • Reduced water flow and increased stress on pipes
  • Film/scale deposits on tiles and fixtures
  • Spots on glasses and dishes
  • Difficult for washing machine to produce suds so clothes don't get as clean

What are signs that my water has too much iron in it?

  • Discolored water: water has red or brown tint
  • Rusted pipes: iron can cause pipes to corrode
  • Bad taste or smell: water can have a metallic taste or a musty smell
  • Dry, itchy skin: iron strips away your skins natural oils, leaving it dry and irritated

What is the solution to all of these water issues?

A water treatment system.

Based on the results of your FREE Water Test*, the Nauman plumbing team can recommend and install the perfect water treatment system to condition your water.

*Free water test does not include a bacteria test but we suggest that every home have a UV light installed for bacteria protection.

Spring into Brighter Days with New Windows!
02 May, 2024
Spring is in full swing and so is allergy season. The following information can help you utilize your HVAC system to help you breathe easier and live comfortably. Replace your air filters. A new air filter is able to clean the air that passes through your HVAC system more thoroughly; keeping dust and allergens out of your home. Keep home humidity levels around 50%-60%. Too much humidity can lead to mold and mildew growth in your home. Dry air can cause allergens and pollution to remain airborne for an extended period of time. Installing a whole house humidifier or dehumidifier to your HVAC system can solve these issues. Install an air scrubber . Air scrubbers are attached directly to your HVAC system's ductwork and use UV lighting to reduce 99.9% of common viruses, bacteria and allergens. Schedule regular HVAC maintenance. The overall health of your HVAC unit contributes to your indoor air quality. We recommend having your HVAC unit serviced twice a year - once in the spring and once in the fall.
